Abstract:
In the New Normal situation of the world (Post COVID-19), teleconsultation became popular among physicians. Patients post-stroke are not able to do their daily activities and face several mental disorders issues such as anxiety and depression. The role of teleconsultation will be highlighted once we consider the cost efficiency of these services not only in financial aspects but also in time. Patients post-stroke are able to receive their regular mental exercise training and some of their monthly checkups using digital platforms. With attention to the importance of this topic, we decided to present the published academic evidence in this regard. For this purpose, databases including Scopus, PubMed, and Google Scholar were used. Keywords for this search were stroke, hemiplegia, CVA, telemedicine, telehealth, mental disorders, anxiety, depression, occupational therapy, rehabilitation, and physiotherapy among the papers published from January 2017 until December 2022. Finally, 14 papers with clear methodology, were selected and the findings of those papers showed the efficiency of teleconsultation for managing mental disorders such as anxiety and depression for the patients post-stroke. It is noted that lack of physical exanimation and emotional tests related to this population's mental disorders was the most important issue that should be considered by the therapists.
