Abstract
Extradural (or epidural) hematoma is a rare but not exceptional complication of traumatic brain injury. Extradural hematoma results from a collection of blood in the epidural space between the inner part of the skull bone and the outer part of the dura mater, which is detached from its bony adhesions by the hematoma. This is a neurosurgical emergency requiring rapid treatment. Extradural hematoma is rapidly life threatening. The aim of this conference is to describe the epidemiological, clinical, diagnostic, therapeutic and prognostic aspects of extradural hematoma.
